The Great Outdoors
If you love being outside, there are many opportunities for exploring. In fact, the beautiful Lake Park is located in Milwaukee, and it offers many opportunities for you and your family to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather. There are trails to walk, birds to watch, lovely picnic areas, concerts, and many other events.
Oak Leaf Trail is another great outdoor walking trail. This beautiful trail offers dozens of connections that take you almost anywhere in Milwaukee, it’s made of over a hundred miles of paths in and around the city. Another beautiful park is Humboldt Park. This area offers trails, picnic spots, a war memorial, and cultural events. You can also enjoy craft beer with local foods available at the beer garden, or bring a picnic lunch!
However, if you love being around water, then head over to Lincoln Memorial Drive and check out Bradford Beach. There are sand volleyball courts, cabana rentals, tiki huts, and a concession stand to enjoy while visiting this lovely little beach spot.
Museums
If you love art and history, there is a great museum selection to choose from in Milwaukee. Did you know that Georgia O’Keefe is a Wisconsin native? The Milwaukee Art Museum features one of the largest collections of her work, as well as artworks from German expressionists, 15th to 20th-century European art, folk and Haitian art, and more!
If you are really into history museums, then come and visit the Milwaukee County War Memorial Center. They believe that honoring those who willingly lay down their lives to protect our freedoms is of utmost importance, and this is why there is an memorial dedicated in honor of them.
